I had the same issue with HR zones not syncing properly until I did a full reset and re-synced everything. Also noticed storm alarms are super sensitive—going off even with minor pressure drops.

@Keep-It-Simple there’s nothing surrendered. Cloud storage is just the way this device works, as do many others. Get an older handheld GPS device if you don’t want cloud

@Nicolas-AULANIER 16Gb is plenty for maps… My wife has the Race (Steel / 16Gb) and we have the same maps loaded (I have the Vertical Ti / 32Gb). Although map sizes are different for different counrties etc. To give you an idea of how much you can hold with 16Gb. ALL - ITALY ALL - CROATIA ALL - AUSTRIA ALL - SLOVENIA ALL - NEW ZEALAND UTMB SECTION - FRANCE UTMB SECTION - SWITZERLAND The app makes it easy to download and set maps as needed. I quite like the approach. And the app automatically highlights the map closest to you, so you can adjust on the fly. The watch internal memory specified is only used for maps, so you can be confident that even 16Gb has you covered for even the biggest adventures.

@Jan-Suchánek I have small wrist too, 165mm, and coming from mechanical watches (daily was 39mm with 11mm) I thought I would find the Vertical too big for everyday use. It is bigger but really comfortable. I like how the Vertical wears.

@vinc14 Hi is this really the case that firmware updates can be enforced? I generally run away from any tech that forces updates vs letting user decide - as this is great segway to planned obsolescence. Is there a repository of previous firmwares? Can you use the watch without app activation? I am getting my Race Titanium tomorrow and would like to avoid jumping into the bad formware straight away.

@trotzendorff first of all those running metrics are only send over ANT+. But even if they would send it over BT as well, I doubt it would be implemented in Suunto firmware. Like the buffering only works with Suunto Smart Belt…

@Stefano-M64 said in Matte screen protector: all depends on the kind of activity, if you do rock climbing, alpinism, canyoning… it’s pretty sure you’ll scratch your watch one day or another… Likely not many people here had a close “relationship” with a granite wall This. I’ve seen so many post on Samsung Galaxy watches and Garmin watches that has sapphire glass where people got a scratch or two asking how it’s possible. Sapphire do scratch too. Once it’s happened there’s nothing that can be done. Then again it’s less likely than other types of glass used on tech but still if the Mohs hardness is equivalent or greater than sapphire then it will scratch. You’re correct there too, high impact activities might give you a run for your money . But then again each to their own and everyone is entitled to their own opinion . I’m not too concerned and my use case was more to test the anti glare ability.

I was looking for another solution and noticed that my Suunto app wasn’t up to date (I had 5.2.5 instead of 5.3.5). I updated it, and just a few minutes later, notifications started coming through again! Happy

After a night sleep I don’t get any resources filled out. I haved according to the watch 8.5 hours of sleep and I lost 1 % of resources during slepp, from what had remain from previous day. OK HRV was very low and I wake a few times, but still, lossing resources during sleep after staying in bead 8 hours?! OK, let’s say, maybe a medical condition, or yes stress, but even so daily I have inconsistent data and updates even in watch or app on Android regarding data of sleep, resources, efort estimation trend. I have the watch for almost 6 months, and it seems that Suunto it make codind test testing on the behalf and patience of the clients. Why to invest in to a team of code tesingt when the clients it doing so. Ok, I can understand that the data from field is more statistical good and reliable but the data server is on your side Suunto, and the software also on your side

@ValeriyS The story ended happily with the watch being replaced with a new one. The downside was that I had to pay customs duties and shipping costs. That’s almost a fifth of the watch’s price. Next time, I’ll think twice about choosing Suunto as a brand.

@mil57 hmm, according to answers from other users, I think that you’d need to be more specific with your question. Are you interested in your overnight HRV for your recovery? If so, then see my answer. Are you interrested in HRV from your activity? In that case refer to this answer and keep in mind that prerequisite for the HRV recorded during activity is this Hope that helps!
