@bljyla Don’t get me wrong, it is a fantastic dive computer. The screen brightness and battery level alone are a massive upgrade over the D5. I personally prefer the dive screen on the Ocean over the Teric and Descent. However, I would like it to be more customisable and maybe a couple of different layout options. I don’t like having to cycle through stats and faces to see the information i want, I’d like to be able to put it all on one screen how I want. I love how NDL and Tank Pressure use the outer circle as a kind of “gauge” but i’d like an option where they only use half each so can be used on the same face (a bit like how the Descent does tissue and ascent rate). I’d also like to see a more advanced planner. The planner was added in the previous update which was great but its still quite basic, even compared to it’s predecessor the D5 which could plan multi dives and calculate gas time too. A very minor one but the no-fly timer doesn’t seem to acknowledge multi-dives. Most dive organisations recommend increasing your no-fly time after multi dives. The Ocean seems to just stick with 12hr no-matter how many dives you do. It also sticks around on the watch face long after its cleared which is a bit annoying and pointless imo. I’d love to see improvements to the underwater maps over time. It’s a cool feature but its not very accurate. I know this is very tricky. I’ve seen some requests for a tides app which would also get my vote. There’s lots of other good suggestions on the forums. I do appreciate that it is marketed as a “Dive computer AND sports watch”, but it’s their flagship dive computer and it’s disappointing to see the lack of dive related updates. Sure the other sports need updating too but it sounds like it’s behind on those too. The Ocean is in a very strong place right now as its competing with dive computers twice it’s price but they’ll loose it if people stary thinking they aren’t supporting it any more and competitors come up with more affordable options.

I had this too, and it went away with a restart. My suspicion is that it has something to do with offline map updates. I got the “map update” screen while starting charging yesterday with no update ongoing (AFAIK). After the firmware install, I kept getting that notification every time I was checking the map. Gone after the restart. Hope it won’t bother me this we in Berlin

@elevationpain Yes, I have checked the iPhone/iPad logs. They show several fatal crashes. I’ll DM you the recent ones. Have just updated to iOS26, so the older ones were deleted. Thanks!

Same problem here (Polar H10). No reconnection is possible. Battery needs to be removed, then it works again.

@gone-troppo said in Battery drain after update 2.44.46 (2025 Q3) on Vertical Watch: 44% to 4% in last 24 hours wtf is going on? I have tried every possible fix to that this forum and fb groups have recommended and nothing works. Is suunto aware of this issue? Is there a fix coming for it ? My suunto vertical which was so great when it was released is now nothing more than an Apple Watch that needs constant charging. I have been with suunto for many years but this is a disgrace. My old ambit 3 peak doesn’t have these issues. I love the suunto app and how suunto ecosystem is I don’t want to change but this is borderline unusable. Watch drains more than 1% per hour when not even doing anything and every battery sucking setting disabled. What a joke You can stop (throught parameters) and restart the watch. It seems it has solved temporarily the problem… (now 4% in 24h as before). But sure there is something to correct, because before restart i was at more than 12% per 24h. I hope that suunto team is avare of that and it will be solved soon.

I also encountered that bug and first thought it wouldn’t work. If you look closely, you should be able to see a marker in the grey area after 10min. The good side of the bug: when it turned green I know that I temporarily crossed LT1

@withManish Out of curiosity, I measured O2 level on watch and device same time, same hand and here are the results. The watch takes quite a long time to measure the O2 level compared to the device. Out of 5 attempts, once it came to 98% otherwise always around 85% and the SPO2 device is 96-98% at 44 meters altitude. [image: 1758182292816-img_2499.jpg][image: 1758182292839-img_2502.jpg] Once I got alerted about keeping my wrist and fingers stable, that is good, but it should prompt before it starts measuring, so the user is careful at first hand. I raised so many concerns about the software glitches and user interface customisation, but not sure about the engineers whether they are here to read and reply or just we are just taking help from each other to find solutions.

@Chen-Avinadav said in Suunto Race S pace track problems: Still I get a very weird looking pace graph, see below. I stand corrected regarding the simplicity of my assumptions. I have only ever seen it being dependent on pace variations, but your latest example really proves it to involve other things as well - could be a time element. When I suggested uploading the .fit file to an analysing site, I specifically had those in mind that unpack the data so that you can examine the raw numbers, like at https://www.fitfileviewer.com/ But using a site which displays a nice overall graph view obviously works just as well.

@peegee Why don’t you simply zoom out by rotating the crown? That should be easier than panning the map around, especially when moving fast I know that may be a rhetorical question because trails disappear from the map when zooming out, so the question is more towards the Suunto team.

Well : it’s quite very very strange… At wake up this morning it’s was still displaying the same message error. I have tried a « desperate » soft reset… Then it has switched to « improving you watch… » Then error message with fw, the « decide has woke up after an error » …then watch turned ON…without all parameters ok, personnal sport modes…only sleep and vfc history seems to have been reseted, and hr zones have been also reseted (and running specific zones was pinned again). Seems that 2.44.46 has been reinstalled automatically Very very strange ….

@kamarasm Hm, you could be right. Then 2.46.x would be the last version for the old watches while Run and Race 2 will get 3.x.x updates. Sounds plausible

@Francesco-Pagano Today I tried a different interval workout and that screen appeared. In the meantime, I found a bug which might be related to the missing screen in the previous workout: if you set an interval with a pace target between 3:40–4:00, the app changes it to 3:39–3:59 after creating the interval. At least on iOS, this happens. I don’t know why, and I’m not sure if that’s what caused the screen not to appear. There are also some other strange bugs across the app — for instance, my height is set to 181 on the watch, but the app shows 180. But going back to the intervals screen: At the top, it shows the target pace for the interval. In the middle: current pace, interval target pace, heart rate, and remaining distance. It would be interesting not to repeat the target pace twice – next to the current pace it should instead show the lap average pace.

@Pep-Carbonell yes, the values measured by SZ can be correct and can be closer or further away from time to time but it is hard to know when it is accurate and when not. Scientific papers could show that DDFA is correlated with the lactate threshold but even under perfect conditions/set-up on a treadmill, it is hard to detect the correct value. A publication from May 2025 (it’s actually from the scientific partners from Suunto from Tampere University) showed that the DDFA method indeed performs better than the estimations from HFmax. DDFA showed on average a deviation of ±10 BPMs from the actual value in 58 subjects…±10 though is usually bigger than the difference in HR between 10k and Marathon Pace. 10k is normally well above threshold and Marathon well below. At +10 BPM above my threshold I’m almost dead why -10 feels really easy :D. So it works in principle but is it accurate enough? A good race-based estimation will probably be on average a lot closer than ±10 BPM. (Here is the publication of you are interested https://physoc.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.14814/phy2.70241) Of note: the accuracy of detecting the aerobic threshold was with ±12 BPMs even worse.
