@sky-runner That’s interesting. I’ve just come back to Suunto from Coros and the maps are better than was available on my first series Apex Pro. I considered the new Apex 4 (which does have better mapping) but I wanted to try AMOLED for better visibility with older eyesight and mapping wasn’t my first priority. Having said that I would value having more path detail on the wider zoom settings. I’m a fell runner - part of the game is traditional navigation with a map and compass and independent route choice between checkpoints. Use of a GPS device is against the rules except in an emergency. But at other times, randomly exploring, especially in unfamiliar locations it would be nice to leave the map in the bag and be able to know there was a path on the opposite side of this ridgeline or that a track I’m following meets another a mile ahead. So Suunto yes please from me, I’d like the path detail on wider zoom settings too.

@thanasis “I had a similar strap on my Suunto 9, but it had two downsides: first, it didn’t dry quickly after the sea, and second, the metal parts were a bit uncomfortable. However, overall it makes the watch look much nicer and really makes it stand out.”

@OutdoorMan this would be a workaround, but not a real solution. I would like to see an alarm that sounds a sound and vibrates to draw your attention to the fact that you reached (or exceeded) a target HR. I know that some of us want to reach a certain target zone when exercising, but some (other) of us need to watch the max HR (I don’t want to have a cardiac arrest when I am climbing ambitiously a hill on my bike ). Btw. it is available on many bike computers. On my Garmin Edge, the alarm will sound, but it is hardly noticeable (and the text does not even change colour). I am afraid that it is designed as an alert for reaching a target zone (as opposed to a real “ALARM” (“slow down or you will die” type).

@aplatonovs any newer watch than 9PP is a better choice. I bought a Race S for my wife as a replacement for 9PP and she couldn’t be more happier. No issues with the watch.

They’ve just given me the problem and the solution: apparently, the watch has to be in contact with the skin. If you wear it over clothing, the wrist-raise gesture doesn’t work.

@Brad_Olwin said in sleep tracking not working after most recent update: I tested my 9PP and it recorded sleep with no issues. @Brad_Olwin, as reported in https://forum.suunto.com/post/182036, the OHR sensor gave up during last night after more that a month since the watch update. I’m not writing just to duplicate the post, but to highlight that a week-ish testing should not be enough to validate this issue solution; actually, tonight was the first time the OHR sensor stopped since the 11th of November.

said in Software Update 2.48.16 (2025 November Rain release): @Ecki-D. said in Software Update 2.48.16 (2025 November Rain release): 9PP WHR 24/7 stopped working during night again A shiver runs down my spine… Currently, @Jaxxdu (https://forum.suunto.com/post/180232) and you had (again) the “pleasure” of this bug… Very very well! So, I’m waiting for it. Finally (…), after more than a month since this update, the OHR sensor gave up during last night. I’ve managed to switch on the sensor by switching on then off the power saving mode; moreover, I’ve sent logs.

I use the Race 2 with Wahoo HR strap and it works with no issues. The strap connects to my bike computer and the watch when I ride, or just to the watch when I XC ski.

I had a problem with repeatedly connecting and disconnecting my Garmin chest strap, but all I had to do was turn off encryption on it.

@sky-runner Thank you for your response. I couldn’t react since I can’t log in on my phone. I was away a few days. I didn’t use snap to route. I was just following my route and decided to go different. I just ignored my watch and didn’t change a thing. Battery mode was performance mode. Hopefully I’ll do another run the next days. But these are busy days

@Tomas5 said in What sport mode is missing from our watches in your opinion?: I sometimes do SM system, it is kind of excercise as physiotheraphy for spine. I track it as stretching but maybe something more specified could be done. Maybe “physiotherapy” or some like that. @Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos what do you think? Here is some description in english https://www.sportovamaserka.eu/en/massage-types/sm-system/ This would be great, I also do this excercise and track it as stretching with the remark it was SM system.
