@brave_dave After run I usually walk and during this time I measure the HRR. Except if I run Easy run so never leave zone 1 in which case the HRR will not work. I do not think sitting vs walking will make much difference in the HR. I find myself recovering much faster if I walk than to abruptly stop

@Efejota said in Offline Maps and Routing in Suunto App: Offline apparently requires that the watch has been paired (previously?) I just tried this since I was wondering the same thing (I have two phones that I switch between, one running old SA software and one with the new offline map option). So it will work, but the key is to remove the pairing from the watch only (Settings > Connectivity > Paired devices > MobileApp > Forget). This will keep the watch associated with the device you are moving away from and thus keep the offline maps as available option. However, if you remove the watch from the app by using the “Manage connection” option, offline maps disappear. I assume this will work for a tablet running SA as well.

@Stefano-M64 As it was said in the other post, elevation lines in the maps (all maps) are not OSM data but each and every map provider magics to generate the displayed lines but from multiples external elevation source of data. That said, to me, at least for little more insight about this “Dolomites elevation curves in maps used by Suunto”, I would tag @pavel.samokha

@tomahawk5000 try the “auto-dubbing feature”. Works well enough

In my opinion, there is a place on the market, but only for a relatively small group of people, for an uncompromising outdoor watch, but this is definitely too narrow a group of potential customers for Suunto, or even any other manufacturer, to be particularly interested. What I mean is MIP, five buttons, the ability to use it entirely without the touchscreen, and full offline functionality – both on the watch and in the app. And clean, intuitive, and responsive maps, compass, as well as the whole interface. And additionally, a few tools that would be desirable in this type of watch: compass access while following a GPX route or using multiple navigation tools at the same time (currently only one tool can be used at a time); the ability to use routes saved in the Logbook without syncing with the phone; a more intuitive, native Live Track function; night mode (Red light), and increased distance tolerance from the planned route for the Off Route function. But let’s be honest – the chances of a watch like this hitting the market are slim to none. People actually prefer smartwatches: “scores” instead of precise data for analysis, steps, floors, challenges, navigation like Google Maps, music, payments and other gadgets. It’s a bit like most people who buy Arc’teryx or Patagonia jackets just to wear around the city. And you could say the same about a large group of Garmin users – this partly explains their position on the market.

@brave_dave your contribution to the noise is: keeping commenting how this is a deal breaker for you, and ALL triathletes, without providing useful information because you are not even using the product. I am trying to understand what the issue is and need answers from affected people

@safari Uh, but do they actually monitor: Running Dynamics: step cadence, total steps, and vertical oscillation. Running Symmetry: balance between your left and right feet by comparing ground contact time. Activity Stats: records ascent and descent (elevation changes), estimated calories, and the total duration of the workout. Cervical Mobility Assessment: perform a test where you move your head (up/down and side-to-side) to measure the symmetry of movement between your left and right sides ? There’s no mention here

@Manuel-Extreme said in Real-time sync/info in phone? Is the support staff clueless or what?: If you’re surprised by how support responds, you probably haven’t dealt much with pre-sales support before Sounds like you have not, since you believe that they never awanser questions. I very often talk to pre-sales support.t I have been shopping online since the 90s. If I buy RAM, CPU, or something like that, then I don’t contact the pre-sales support. But if there is a functionality that I am after and I feel the compnay is not really clear in their product page and marceting I always contact them. Or if I want to upgrade my network at home, see a router I want, but there is diffrent revisions of it, and they have diffrent chipset. One revision supports Open-WRT, but the otherones dont. Then I ask the place where I should buy it, from the manufacturer’s sales page or a retailer: What revision of the hardware do you have in stock?. Just as an example, I hate buying somehting get it home, and spending time setting it up to find that a function I was after is not there or is implemented in a bad way.

@snow said in New firmware 2.53.42: You need to start the activity Ah! Yes… That works. This was incredibly convoluted… Thanks. Hope my bumbling around will help other users. Edit: Everybody is talking about the Menu only accessible from the Map screen itself (the 3 lines/hamburger icon). Edit 2: And it works even without any Route loaded. Great!

@Sportsfreund said in Suunto and Concept 2 indoor rowing: Good work, guy. But really, there’s no need for a connection like this. The PM5 needs to be connected to a smartphone to plan and upload races. What we need is a connection from C2 to Suunto to actually use the load values in CTL/ATL, etc. A connection from the C2 logbook to import into Suunto seems not within the scope of what is possible with a SuuntoPlus app, but rather, that ability would need to come from a collaboration of Concept2/Suunto themselves. If Suunto wishes to do that, then perhaps they can also talk to SmartRow so sessions from the SR logbook could also auto-upload to Suunto? http://www.smartrow.fit/ This setup would be for people not currently using the PM5 bluetooth connection to send data elsewhere like ErgData or EXR, etc. People on alternate rowers like the RP3 or the SmartRow system I use may one day benefit from the work here if it extends beyond the Concept2. I have two data connections from my power meter, so one can go to my SmartRow app and another could go to a connection like this. Perhaps eventually C2 will update the PM5 to allow dual bluetooth signals as many cycling power meters have.

@freeheeler said in Recovery: watch and SA differ: @emkei me too… but I found a workaround: in movescount suunto promoted the phone as an extended watch display: that’s what I do. I use the watch mainly to track and record and look at the data in the app only. which data is correct? I don’t know. but it is where I see a long term trend. and I don’t want to worry Yes, this is probably the only way - but still awkward as Suunto is the only company I know having this issue. Unfortunately, this was not the only reason I left - there were differences between watch, iOS app and iPadOS in: steps TSS Recovery Resources HRV And sleep tracking was really off (especially if ready at bed, or working at a standing desk) The thread: Recovery watch & App

@Nikolai-Simonov said in Live location S+ app: @Egika thanx for report, if it possible could you check on previous versions e.g. 1.0.16 (83) the behaviour is pretty odd, basically mid-activity flow shouldn’t have any difference with regular flow. I’ll try to figure out what could happen, there was an update in btle stack on iOS version, maybe it broke smth. however unfortunately i’ll be without my iPhone this week, will be able to check only next weekend. @larrybbaker could you also check on previous version if it possible. Thanx for point out I installed 1.0.16 (83). Unfortunately this version crashes repeatedly when trying to start the app. No way to start it. iPhone 16, iOS 26.5 beta Edit: (85) is working.
