@Elipsus What should I care about the release date? If there was a defective batch, it should be recalled and customers should be replaced with a non-defective product. I don’t even recall any official word from Suunto on this matter. A second Suunto Vertical purchased in May 2024 still had this defect. That’s why I’m talking about years. The customer doesn’t care about the release date, production date, or defective batches. What matters is the purchase date and the length of time the defective product has been on the market without any action from the manufacturer.

@Gunnar said in Suunto Athletics 7 loop strap: @Stefano-M64 at least for me the stress on this part happens when you open the strap and it hits the spring. mine stops at the first velcro pad, maybe because I can pull the watch out very easily (L size)

Thank you all, this is very valuable because you have the direct comparison. I think the “anti-wind noise” will be missing in the Aqua, but you will rarely miss that if you are not on the road by bike

@Egika said in Software Update 2.43.8/.12 (2025 Q2): @Kaiphi said in Software Update 2.43.8/.12 (2025 Q2): I noticed a mistake in the sport mode mountain bike downhill. When I start the activity, it shows me the duration, but not the depth meters and distance. These remain at 0. After exiting, however, everything is displayed. Does anyone else have that? I had the same today on two out of 3 watches. The third one showed all data correctly. Reported it to Suunto Thx! Is there a statement from suunto until when this will be fixed? Was back in the bike park for the weekend and the problem still exists

@pcosm I find 10% per day way too much - with 24/7 HR, notifications, sleep on and 12+ hours of GPS per week I have long-time average around 6,5%/d.

@Mff73 said in Live location S+ app: Which is not usable for any real “emergency” tracking for real emergency you need a device that doesn’t rely on the mobile network, like a Garmin InReach that uses the Iridium satellite constellation, it is able to connect from everywhere in the world, in the middle of an ocean, the Sahara or even the Antarctica

Perhaps the statement of @Inge-Nallsson is really helpful… some days ago I recognized that ZS in the SA is away… the chest strap is about 10month old… I changed the battery but nothing changed… after the post I thought about it and I remembered that I tested another app in the watch… live tracking and ZS app together… today I disabled Live tracking… ZS data is again in the app today! Perhaps somebody of the Suunto team can check this?

If I remember from another thread correctly, the watch works out the metrics, not the app. So anything imported does not go through this loop and the detailed metrics are missing.

@sebchastang said in Help Map doesn't download !: @Kramble I had a similar problem few days ago. I don’t know if you have enabled wifi from the app or from the watch directly, but in my case map download started after switching wifi off/on from the watch . I cut off the auto WiFi on the watch, then the app connected the watch to the WiFi but this time I had the possibility to configure the WiFi network (name/pwd) and IT WORKS !! Thank you so much !

A bigger problem (albeit related) is losing the correct direction when the route intersects. For example, figure 8 or other variations of the route intersect.

@Egika said in Maps Partial Update Rollout, July 2025 [Limited Countries]: Still OT, but this is clearly not what Pavel wrote. I apologize, didn’t want to be unkind or “reframe” what Pavel stated. the plain fact is that the maps provided by Mapbox are proved to be (very) wrong in some areas and that is - in my opinion - a problem for Suunto and its costumers. We are no more in the old times when maps were drawn by hand and then often very approximate, nowdays people are used to completely rely on them, wrong maps should not exist.

@Brad_Olwin Hello, I actually know that. I think the problem is that the watch goes into deep sleep. It’s been over 12 hours since then. Something even more interesting happened last night. I put the watch on charge. In the morning, it was at 99%. Even though it went to sleep, it wasn’t at 100%.

@Milan-Šádek said in Map Rendering and Trail Visibility after Software Update 2.43.8/.12: @sky-runner at least for Vertical you can choose 25, 50, 100, 200, 500 m and 1, 2, 5, 10 an 20 km. I find 25 m very handy e.g. while geacaching. The same for the Race and Race S, and 25m zoom is useful for me in case of consecutive forks and/or complex terrain topology. Actually, trails visibility is often challenging, unless you are following a route, since they are way thicker!

@Mff73 The Suunto Ocean dive computer uses different sampling rates for scuba and freediving modes to match the demands of each activity. In scuba mode, the device logs dive data at 10-second intervals, balancing data detail with battery efficiency for longer dives. In contrast, freediving mode records data every 1 second to accurately capture rapid depth changes and short dive durations. These rates apply to key metrics such as depth, time, temperature, and heart rate, and are stored in the logbook for later review. Currently, these sampling rates are fixed and not user-adjustable. Some other dive computers have adjustable and higher sampling rates.

@sky-runner thanks!!! seems to be a related issue… This was my route and the watch started to have that erroneous behaviour when at the point that I’ve highlighted in red, I followed the route in reverse. From there the screen was always ON and the elevation profile was not reversed as the route. [image: 1753678482377-97d09b46-4a88-4319-b372-75e9ba7cf314-image.png]

@szleslie I have a band that looks identical to your first picture. Via Amazon branded Helmut. I find it excellent. It is also much better if you use a bike mount. Mine is leather not nylon but they do a nylon version.
