@OutdoorMan Thanks, but I prefer seeing the actual remaining distance rather than a progress bar. It looks like this specific function is restricted to the “Run” model.

This is from SR2 manual: Your aerobic fitness level is defined as VO₂max (maximal oxygen consumption), a widely recognized measure of aerobic endurance capacity. In other words, VO₂max shows how well your body can use oxygen. The higher your VO₂max, the better you can use oxygen. The estimation of your fitness level is based on detecting your heart rate response during each recorded running or walking workout. To get your fitness level estimated, record a run or walk with a duration for at least 15 minutes while wearing your Suunto Race 2. For a walk under certain conditions SR2 should provide VO₂max estimation. Even if not precise as in lab, for someone at the beginning of fitness journey it could be a good indicator of progress and also a motivation.

@thanasis Yes, Suunto Smart for all the activities. I was afraid to ‘activate’ the battery drain using it, but no problems with current firmware

@OutdoorMan i’m to lazy to keep pressing snooze each 10 minutes Anyway, there are other uses. I use it to remember me to take my medication, sometimes I know I will only be home in an hour. When that happens I dismiss the alarm. I don’t want to snooze each 10 minutes for one hour…

Last night my watch also stopped measuring heart rate in the middle of the night. I bought the watch only 6 days ago. A soft restart returned the heart rate. I have software 2.48.16

They’ve just given me the problem and the solution: apparently, the watch has to be in contact with the skin. If you wear it over clothing, the wrist-raise gesture doesn’t work.

@aplatonovs any newer watch than 9PP is a better choice. I bought a Race S for my wife as a replacement for 9PP and she couldn’t be more happier. No issues with the watch.

@mikajahkola Perhaps you could record this as treadmill running which allows calibration once you’ve stopped recording on the watch. After you’ve calibrated it, it should become more accurate.

Good day, I have a Suunto Spartan Ultra and have had it for 8 years. From my last Samsung UI update my watch has not synced my daily steps with the Suunto app. I have tried the following but not success: Restart phone and watch. Reinstall Suunto App Force stop Suunto App Unpair watch from phones Bluetooth and reconnect. Gave all items on Suunto App permission. Made sure Suunto APP and phone is not on energy saving mode. If anyone has a solution please assist. Kind regards

@sky-runner said in It's 2024 - Anyone Still Training Only With An Ambit?: It was more accurate than most watches at the time a decade ago, but compared to modern watches with dual-frequency GNSS, A3P accuracy is mediocre. Can’t disagree, but I still like them

I haven’t used my D5 since January; I got it out of the cupboard today to charge it as it’s dead, but I can’t remember how to attach the charger. I’ve searched the manual but it just says ‘attach’, it doesn’t explain how. There’s a red thing on the end of the cable which I seem to recall ‘snaps’ onto the watch, but right now it’s not snapping onto anything - it doesn’t stick to the back of the watch like I seem to remember. Have I got this totally wrong? Please can someone explain in simple terms how to attach the charger?! Thanks

said in Software Update 2.48.16 (2025 November Rain release): @Ecki-D. said in Software Update 2.48.16 (2025 November Rain release): 9PP WHR 24/7 stopped working during night again A shiver runs down my spine… Currently, @Jaxxdu (https://forum.suunto.com/post/180232) and you had (again) the “pleasure” of this bug… Very very well! So, I’m waiting for it. Finally (…), after more than a month since this update, the OHR sensor gave up during last night. I’ve managed to switch on the sensor by switching on then off the power saving mode; moreover, I’ve sent logs.

@Tomas5 That’s what Strava Live segments are for - you can see how many seconds you are ahead or behind your best attempt in real time. Suunto watches do support Strava Live segments but you have to have paid Strava account to enable that on the Strava side. Then you can create a private segment on a route of your choice and keep repeating it over time using Strava Live segments S+ guide on your Suunto watch. You can also use one of existing public segments and see where you stand compared to others.

@sky-runner Thank you for your response. I couldn’t react since I can’t log in on my phone. I was away a few days. I didn’t use snap to route. I was just following my route and decided to go different. I just ignored my watch and didn’t change a thing. Battery mode was performance mode. Hopefully I’ll do another run the next days. But these are busy days

@Horizontal_2 I agree it’s probably not a real issue to worry about the level at which to recharge. BTW the battery warranty is for one year (and the 300 cycles only if they come earlier).

Ok, thank you for the feedback! Then I reduce my question to Bike Pod (no readings) and Power drops ( dropping to zero during the run). I don’t get values from a bike pod with Vertical and RaceS with current firmware. Did a restore of 2.44 on the RaceS - also didn’t help. So three samples in total and I am not the only one. Pod works with Garmin 910xt, Garmin 235, Laptop (ANT+ stick) and Suunto Ambit3 Vertical. And the Power Drops to Zero - I had them on every Run until it was resolved with 2.44. Also this was a common problem in 2.43 I think. Maybe a 2.39 could solve both issues? Its Hometrainer weather in Austria and I want to use the Pod…

I buyed it to try and unfortunatly I can answer the question. It doesn’t work with Suunto - but with Garmin 🤮 The Sensor connects via Bluetooth, but delivers no readings. On Garmin with ANT everything works out of the box

I had the chance to experience this issue recently. Was running in the woods, fog all around, and pulled the maps to double check the trails. Zoom over 200 meters and trails dissapear, useless really, I had to pull out the phone maps. I hope it gets fixed.

@docsport77 Power doesn’t work if you choose the treadmill activity, but you can use a Running activity and deactivate GPS. Not very accurate I think, but it works

@aiv4r I’m talking about configuring it directly from the watch. But setting a very long rest time is so simple that I didn’t even think of this workaround ^^ Thank you
