@JANTIKAINEN HR is a know weakness. But sleep stages from what I understand are incredibly hard to detect. Essentially all watches are off. I think DCrainmaker has some good discussion on it (I forget but I think he talked about in the context of his Apple Watch reviews at some point). I think any review of sleep stages in fitness watches should be taken with a huge grain of salt. The fact that the guy doesn’t even acknowledge the limitations of sleep tracking in general is somewhat problematic especially he is considering him as a “scientist”

@Elipsus said in Sensors full of Bubbles, Plastic peels off.: But again, the country of origin has nothing to do, at all. I’m perfectly aware of this. That’s why I pointed out that these laments about moving production to China are pointless, because watches from Finland also had problems (also problems with the buttons in 9Baro).

Hi everyone, I’m experiencing a persistent issue with my Suunto 7 and I’m hoping someone here might have some insight or a solution. My activities are syncing to both the Suunto app and Strava, and they show all the correct metrics like distance, pace, and time. However, there is absolutely no map or route displayed for any of my activities, whether in the Suunto app or Strava. It looks exactly like the attached screenshot for example activities. My activity which is without a map : [image: 1753786276711-1.jpg] My friend’s activity with the map and location : [image: 1753785732865-screenshot_20250729_140616_strava.jpg] Problem: Activities have distance, pace, time, but no map. This applies to all outdoor activities. Watch: Suunto 7 (running latest firmware). Phone: Xiaomi Poco X5 Pro. Suunto App: Latest version installed. Troubleshooting Steps I’ve Already Taken: Watch Reset: I have performed a full factory reset on my Suunto 7. Checking Sunnto App permissions on my phone to be granted. Outdoor Activities: These are outdoor activities (e.g., runs, walks) selected with appropriate outdoor sport modes, not indoor activities. Reinstalled Suunto App: I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the Suunto app on my Poco X5 Pro. What I’ve observed: Pace and distance seem to be calculated, suggesting some form of movement detection is working. The absence of a map is the only missing component. Has anyone else encountered this issue, or are there any further diagnostic steps I could take? Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hello, today we noticed this issue on my wifes 5 Peak. Unfortunatelly it has already 2.5 year so it is not under warranty anymore. And she is light user, and not wearing it while washing dishes, showering, sleeping etc. Only around 9hours a day during working days only and then while cycling/hiking but thats few times a month. Hi all! My Android mobile phone can connect and be paired with my Suunto 5, but it keeps on pairing once both devices are connected. Obviously, no performance data is automatically synced. The app and softwares are updated. What might be the problem? Thanks!

Interesting take! A lightweight Suunto with Stryd support would be a game-changer for runners. I doubt they’ll add it, but if they did, I’d consider it too. The T6c was legendary—2000 miles is impressive!

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos said in Software update 2.22.60 (Only S9 Peak Pro) (HotFix): This update brings improvements to GPS performance in a watch. Shorter time to find GPS signal Kind of irrevelant but FWIW my nearly 3yr old S9B has taken less than 5 seconds to acquire a GPS fix every day so far this week

@deserthike20 In my experience Strava does sync negative (downhill) running segments but perhaps not negative cycling segments.

After several years of being addicted to this gimmicky, I have learned that all this stuff is good to get accustomed with certain concept as a beginner and to get very long term trend insights, but if you get too much attached, they are un-educational, preventing you to benefit from the most important gift you can get from sport: mind<->body connection.

@roblambell said in Imperial for miles, Metric for celcius, and per-sport settings: easily toggle between them during an activity (configurable long presses - with an option being to toggle units - during activity??), would be my preference! whenever doing an activity with someone without a watch, they often want to know a metric I share with them in a different unit so this’d be really great in that scenario

@Francesco-Pagano Yes, I bought SensoRun Sensors, but they are not very easy to use. Only works with native app and the values are somehow strange. No GCT Balance there, but at least I could compare stride length left and right. That helped me monitoring my improvements, stride length is nearly equal now. But what my right leg is missing is the stiffness / bouncing capability. I had hopes to monitor this difference with the Ground Contact Time measurement

@Mff73 Also, considering that battery duration has considerably been enhanced with last generation of watches (S9pp < SR < SV), the number of charge cycles his more than divided by 2 compared to previous generations.

@inkognito That was it. Thanks! I removed all POI-s and than uploaded just two and they both appeared on the watch map. Good to know to keep an eye on this until Suunto resolves it. But if this bug is still here from s9 era, that is not promising

I find this time field as an extra. I don’t care if it’s small - I know it’s there if I need it, and I rarely need it to be as readable as any other data field. If I’m going to need to know time often - like actual time, or sunset, etc. I always create a personalized sports mode where the important fields are large enough.
