@Mff73 Right Race S FW 2.44.46 And I’ve finally found the bug ! A factory reset changed nothing. My feeling about the blood oxygen measurement time matching the heart rate monitoring was right. It is the blood oxygen measurement that fails ! I deactivated it and my sleep was normally monitored.

Will the fact that the HR in sleep tracking report is party missing but is visible in the HR widget affekct the sleep results on my race? The results look ok but it’s weird that some parts of the night hasn’t any HR recorded according to the sleep report on the IOS app.

I thought a lot about whether to write this or not. I have loved my Race S and it has done a great job 85% of the time. I am noticing little quirks that my COROS either does not have or cannot have due to the Ciimb Guidance. Since updating to the new software version my H10 HRM has been broken so I have had to use my Garmin HRM Pro +. It has been really bad at keeping connected. a. if a Garmin watch or my phone are present the HRM will connect and disconnect on runs. This has made Zone Sense intermittent. Yesterday during my 75 min run the the HRM connected and showed connected, but after running for 35 minutes the watch beeped like it just connected. The ZS never showed up after 10 minutes so I thought it was weird, but to make things worse when I downloaded the workout it showed a constant 128 BPM for the first 28 minutes. That is so incorrect. Today I went for a 10 mile hike and put my phone in airplane mode and left the antique fenix at home and ZS worked. (but other things went wrong see below) I know the HRM is a Garmin product, but it should still work. My watch was beeping every so ofter driving home with the HRM in the backseat. It was connecting every so often for some reason. There was no activity going, but it just does that. It also did that when I had my COROS HRM as an option. I had to disconnect it because it was switching over during runs when I had the COROS HRM on. b. This set of issues below made me say “What???” Today I did my hiking route in the Suunto app so I could use turn by turn. It was a peak to peak to peak hike. Here are the weird things that happened in the 4 hours. the climb guidance would not show were I was in the picture (it shades blue to show progress). The only way it would work is if I scrolled down to the second climb guidance screen and back. This happened over and over. Also it announced the first climb, but it never showed up in the guidance. It was red in the graph, but… As I approached the second peak I stopped short of the summit of the planned route by about 20-30 feet. There were a ton of people and I did not want to deal with it all so I started to head to the third peak. This cancelled any turn by turn and climb guidance from there on out. It all disappeared. The watch could not accept me staying on route, but not finishing a small portion before turning around. Because of #2 I was able to stop and luckily I had a bit of cell reception so I redid a route on app and downloaded it to the watch, This made things work better again. Also this time the shading and climb guidance screens worked correctly. That is until something happened and I don’t know what. I was on the map screen for a few minutes and no matter what I did it would not let me go to another screen using the middle button like normal. I did all the things zooms in an outs. hit all the buttons short hits and long hits. The only thing that would happen is if I hit the middle button long enough it would go to the first screen, but all the other screens were not accessible. WTF?? So I reloaded the route in navigation and it worked for the. remaining 2 miles of the hike. That is a lot of little silly things that should just work. I have been wearing an old Fenix 5 plus or a COROS Pace Pro because of all the issues lately as well as the Race S because I don’t want to lose activities. The COROS worked flawlessly for the hike. Sure it did not have climb guidance, but the turn by turn was on point (and I downloaded the route from Suunto. I did not have to build it in Coros to make it work Total win). I should mention that sleep tracking isn’t super important to me, but it has become something I judge Suunto on because well it did not work for the first 6 months I had it. Then I figured out if I wore it on my right wrist on the inside it would track fairly flawlessly. (That took a lot of experimenting. way more than I should have had to) but now with all the “Improvements to sleep tracking” it is a useless function. I am a side sleeper and have been my whole life. I thought, hmmm maybe Suunto just is better for back sleepers. I even tried that to no avail. I got a 2 hour nap that night. The only reason I am mildly interested is a. I rarely get an HRV reading and would like that and b. I would like to see if the new recovery metrics are accurate. Are other people seeing little bugs like these? I defend Suunto on Reddit, DC Rainmaker, the 5k Runner and Facebook, but man on man I do need it to work. Garmin has so much bloatware and is so so expensive, but they do just work usually. I have had a few bugs, but overall they work. I really want my Suunto to just work. Oh and I have tried to work with support… What a disaster. Thoughts?

Hello Suunto team and community, I recently bought a Suunto Run with one very specific use case in mind: listening to audiobooks in offline MP3 mode while running. For me, this was a decisive factor in choosing the watch. However, I quickly realized that the music player only allows play/pause, next/previous track and volume control. There is no way to fast-forward or rewind within a single track. This is very limiting, especially for audiobooks where one track can easily last 30 minutes or more. Without the ability to skip forward/backward inside a track, it’s really inconvenient: if I miss a part or want to continue where I left off, I have to restart the whole track from the beginning. I’d really love to know if Suunto is planning to add this feature in a future update. Being able to jump forward/backward (even in small increments like 15, 30, or 60 seconds) would make the offline MP3 player so much more useful for audiobook listeners. Apart from this issue, I have to say that I’m really happy with the Suunto Run overall, it’s a great watch! Thanks in advance for considering this request! Best regards,

@MKPotts, it’s a 9 Peak Pro. Not sure it’s the update that caused the issue, TBH. Just trying to figure out what caused it. I’ve sent it to Suunto for repair. I’ll post their feedback here.

@Prenj Yes. tried everything. problem might be my Suunto Traverse is quite old and there was a suggestion that my model is now incompatible with the Suuntolink desktop app. I have Windows 11 and don’t want to mess around with getting old Windows 10, etc, back just for this. I can get screens on tablet and phone OK and had an old desktop app that worked. Just wanted a larger screen to view my routes and check for updates etc. Maybe updates do occur from my phone, just don’t know that. Got messages re phasing that one out and re-migrating to Suuntolink which has never worked for me. That was years ago now. I’d say smarty answers here saying their work fine are newbies - ie have newer model watches that do connect to pc OK. There is not help from Suunto re this because now manuf in China and distributors don’t have access to all the technology stuff. You should be able to see your stuff OK on phone and tablet.

Hello, today we noticed this issue on my wifes 5 Peak. Unfortunatelly it has already 2.5 year so it is not under warranty anymore. And she is light user, and not wearing it while washing dishes, showering, sleeping etc. Only around 9hours a day during working days only and then while cycling/hiking but thats few times a month. Hi all! My Android mobile phone can connect and be paired with my Suunto 5, but it keeps on pairing once both devices are connected. Obviously, no performance data is automatically synced. The app and softwares are updated. What might be the problem? Thanks!

Interesting take! A lightweight Suunto with Stryd support would be a game-changer for runners. I doubt they’ll add it, but if they did, I’d consider it too. The T6c was legendary—2000 miles is impressive!

@cosmecosta right. Also I’ve noticed the bug on my watch after picking it up from shelf in the morning - not right after an activity or before. And I believe everything was OK day before. So it happened without any activity - perhaps it was trying to connect to phone (Android) or doing some background maintenance, no idea. I’ve also checked my diary - the oldest activity I can see is from April so it must be cyclic.

@nseslija all S series are compatible with Strava Segments, or better will be. I believe it was rolled out with last update, but there was a bug so it has been disabled, fixed, and now it is being tested. I do not know if another update will be needed before segments are available again.

Posting it here (I have since updated to 2.33, but this happened under2.30.38) as I read that it used to be a known bug on the 9PP: Last week I finished a short yoga workout (25 min.) and my 9PP stayed in saving state for over 10 min. I could unfreeze it by coupling the charging cable, then activity showed as saved and gave me the summary. Thought it might be good to keep it as a record. I’ll of course monitor if this happens on the new FW. Enjoy your day everyone! [image: 1711612408201-3841cece-88a8-4b14-8f62-082089593a6f-img_2515-4311.jpg]

@twekkel I see, that is a bit sad, makes no sense to always show the sunset or cice versa. I hope they might want to rethink this choice.

@Tomas5 I just watched this really cool video review of the Vertical. It goes into some fantastic detail on the navigation features AND its done showing the touchscreen in the rain. Shout out to this channel! I think I enjoyed it more than DCR or Desfit to be quite honest: Active Ideas: https://youtu.be/Ldx_YPgU87c [image: 1684075588976-e8e88cae-9a66-499b-914b-ee24a08bb50b-screenshot_20230514-073128-2.png]

@dankcushions someone on here have a great tip. Sometimes if you add one planning point and move it the whole route changes. Which is annoying. But if you add three, the one you want to move and two lock points you can then edit a section without the whole route changing .

@maszop said in Map Rendering and Trail Visibility after Software Update 2.43.8/.12: One quick glance at the watch screen and you could immediately see if a side path that looked more interesting or safer connected to the previously planned route. Now you have to pull out your phone and only then check it. The complete opposite of the idea of a watch with maps. Fully agree. And this applies not only to trails but also to creeks that we can see on your map at 500m. Now that is no longer possible too. Creeks are very important as water sources when doing longer trail adventures - trail runs and fastpacking hikes. Here I was actually trying to figure out whether my route crossed the creek ahead of me. The trail goes not too far from a fairly large creek that I could hear, but it is displayed only at lower zoom levels: [image: 1756323594654-pxl_20250821_165601597-1.jpg] For me, this map is pointless and not much better than what I had with Ambit3 a decade ago. What is even the point of a faster MCU and a larger, higher resolution display in Race 2, if the map rendering is so primitive?

Hello, Thanks for your help. I received this week my H10. The size M-XXL is the correct one for me. The H10 broadcast directly the data in ANT+ and Bluetooth, no need to set. So it’s work fine with my Ambit2 and iPad.

@szleslie I changed my mind. I ordered a Race Titanium Charcoal. I had Race S at release and an Amazfit T-Rex 3. I sent them back. At that time they seemed strange for me. Some weeks ago I ordered a Race S Titanium. I liked it but I wanted a sapphire glass. Returned. I have the Race now. Great device. In my current situation I do not need multiple devices. At least now:). Map rendering is awesome. I could not wait for Garmin to release something like Suunto has in map rendering any longer.
