I’ve just switched from a Garmin Forerunner 265 to the Suunto Vertical 2. I really like the Vertical, and the Suunto ecosystem is much more intuitive and informative! The only thing that annoys me is that the watch never disconnects from Bluetooth, even when I put it in flight mode. I still receive notifications, and it keeps syncing with my phone all the time. How do you completely disconnect it from the phone? I’ve tried restarting the watch. Any suggestions?

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos said in Battery drain after update 2.44.46 (2025 Q3) on Vertical Watch: I’m reading through this issue, but I’m not entirely sure I agree with what’s being said here. Since not everyone is experiencing battery drain, how can we say the drain is deliberate? I’m raising this issue, but let’s keep things in perspective — it’s not that Suunto wants to drain the battery faster. The Vertical 1 is Suunto’s flagship model for MIPS. Could you please check whether the battery drain remains the same if you unpair your sensors (under Connectivity)? This was one of the main low-level changes in the latest update, so it would help narrow things down. Thank you for taking the time to write here and report your findings — it’s appreciated! Hi Yes I have tried this and it did not work, I literally tried every single “fix” that was suggested on these forums and various fb groups on mine none have worked. I’m not someone who just complains for no reason if you look at my historical posts I was singing praises for the suunto vertical more than anyone when it first come out on here when it worked properly. The solar stopped working which I can live with but the battery drain is a fundamental failure of this watch. I sent my watch to suunto repair cost me $50 who said there is nothing wrong with the battery or hardware and they claim it is only draining 4% per 24 hours!!! Yet I have approx 6 week worth of notes every morning I would record battery level when I wake up. I would get anywhere from 12-40% drain every 24 hours it gets worse as the battery gets lower below 50%. So either I’m lying or the suunto repair shop is lying??? To all the others this battery drain has been happening well before the last two firmware updates so rolling back to the last firmware won’t help you. This is something suunto must fix. Currently I’m using my old reliable ambit 3 peak which goes through maybe 2-3% battery a day and puts the vertical to shame how embarrassing. 2014 technology smashing the current stuff

POST multi pod update: I can pair my race to my quarq PM, but once it’s paired to teh SRAM AXS system with my Karoo head unit, the watch won’t pick it up - which is odd- because it once did pair, but then the QUARQ PM was the only power pod listed. maybe a subsequent update changed - but there is no problem with paring to the stages unit I have. they are both listed as power pods. I removed the QUARQ and re-paired it. It shows up in the list of pODS but still won’t link

Is there a way to prevent custom sport modes from disappearing after every new software update? The last update was the fourth time this has happened, and I have to configure everything again each time.

Hi, after the update, I often find that the synchronization of the chest strap with the watch fails. This means that there are large differences in heart rates during exercise.

Received feedback from the support team. They tell me that the Peak Pro is no longer manufactured, nor that they have the parts to repair it. Not sure why they talk about parts, as to me, the issue had nothing to do with “mechanics” (but hey I’m not a techncian). Their position is “we can maybe fix it, but a cost that wouldn’t be relevant to you”, so instead, they offer to me a replacement with another device. With an incredible discount of 10€ !!! Quite interstingly, the Peak Pro is one of the models they’re offering in this deal of the century. Yes. The same model that is not manufactured anymore and for which they have no spare parts if there’s an issue. Just bought a new Sports2. But with a “I give these guys one last chance, before I move to G” approach, as I’m pretty pi**ed off, the failure happened after a failed update (according to me, but once again, I’m no Suunto technicain), 2 weeks after the warranty expired, and by the fact that the support is putting me in a position where I have no other option that to buy a new device. Aren’t they clamining they are a sustainable company? “Repairability” is the basis of being sustainable, especially for a device that was first realseased less than 3 years ago. Or is the image they want to give some sort of green-washing. Anyways…

Hello, today we noticed this issue on my wifes 5 Peak. Unfortunatelly it has already 2.5 year so it is not under warranty anymore. And she is light user, and not wearing it while washing dishes, showering, sleeping etc. Only around 9hours a day during working days only and then while cycling/hiking but thats few times a month. @szleslie I changed my mind. I ordered a Race Titanium Charcoal. I had Race S at release and an Amazfit T-Rex 3. I sent them back. At that time they seemed strange for me. Some weeks ago I ordered a Race S Titanium. I liked it but I wanted a sapphire glass. Returned. I have the Race now. Great device. In my current situation I do not need multiple devices. At least now:). Map rendering is awesome. I could not wait for Garmin to release something like Suunto has in map rendering any longer.

@sky-runner maybe a silly idea, but what about using multisport ? entering an aid station you switch to any mode you customized for “”“pause”“” at station, and switchback to main one when going out ? if times data are setup correctely, you can have total time and/or current activity time (run or pause time in you case), previous pause and previous “stats”, etc… and you will have all details in SA after.

@sky-runner Ok, I think I see where you mean - that small section between the two dots (waypoints or turns)? So you think it just skipped ahead while you were somewhere on section 6? (Sorry, I’m trying to follow along.) Perhaps in addition to the watch always trying to figure out which direction you’re traveling, it’s also always trying to figure out where you are along the route, rather than just assuming you are strictly moving from one point to the next. So maybe somewhere along section 6, it incorrectly guessed you were farther along in your route (since the paths cross at 6/7) and updated the directional arrow accordingly, but hadn’t yet updated the distance remaining since that lags behind. I’d bet if you had followed the light blue path, away from your car, the remaining distance would have also skipped ahead soon after. But since you followed the route as planned, it didn’t have time to adjust to this mistake. Whatever is going on, you are correct that it’s screwy and inconsistent.

@duffman19 said in Suunto navigation tendency to auto-reverse route when it shouldn't. Bug or misguided feature?: I think the best solution is to offer a menu option to navigate a route backwards, so the user must knowingly select it. I agree, happened to me today as well. I may be mistaken but iirc that was possible when I used the Ambit 3 peak

GPS is essential for calculating Running Power. It is stated in the watch manual as well: Suunto 9 Peak Pro measures running power from the wrist combining GPS and barometric data. Ensure your weight is correct in the watch settings for the algorithm to work properly. Your weight is set at Settings > General > Personal > Weight.

@sky-runner said in New Suunto Run Watch interface on older models (Vertical, Race, Race S)?: Spinning the crown is difficult when wearing gloves Not on a Coros watch, since the crown friction is much lower than on Suunto offerings <-- My experience: Pace 2 versus Race S. The Coros was a breeze to use even with thick finger gloves; did not try with ski mittens though… Instead I’d say that having to keep the crown pushed in for several seconds to scroll backwards, the Suunto way, is the real elephant in the room. As for other possible transfers from the Run watch to older models, sure! I would like sensible ones, but please not the ‘Fluff’. Back in 2013/2014 Garmin introduced Ground Contact Time on the FR620 and FR920XT, as well as Vertical Oscillation. This, together with the old (useful) data point Cadence, they called Running Dynamics. We spent countless hours on the forum discussing possible ways to make the numbers actionable, with little success. Basically it boiled down to “run faster” to lower the GCT and/or switch from heel striking to mid- or forefoot landing. VO is also lowered by “running faster”, but that’s about it. ‘You is You’ when it comes to running technique, and only mileage and experience will make your body adjust to the safest and most energy efficient running style for Your Body. Same goes for the Ground Contact Time Balance which Garmin squeezed into the RD set in 2015 (not backported to the FR620, you had to buy the new FR630…) The forum discussions were hilarious, and absolutely Zero clarification from Garmin. For example: 51-49 - meaning the GCT was slightly longer on the left foot - did that signify that something in the left leg department (hip, thigh, ankle etc) was weaker, injured or whatever than the right area, OR that your body favoured the left side because the right side was weaker, injured… etc. etc. The suggestions for how to balance a possible ‘imbalance’ took on surreal tones when one of the moderators claimed to having achieved 50-50 by holding one of the arms straight out from the body - this while running… I certainly would not buy a new version Suunto watch based on such frivolous additions.

@ruslan-jefremov часы без пульсометра? В таком случае 0 калорий ожидаемый результат. If no HR is being measured, 0 calories is an expected result. Check baro graphs in your region, there might have been pressure fluctuations with an actual storm. In case there were no significant changes you can maybe try to clean the baro holes. If nothing helps, you can try to contact support.

ooh wait yes that’s seems to be the orthostatic test from polar… @isazi in https://support.polar.com/en/support/the_what_and_how_of_orthostatic_test by the section “How do I do an orthostatic test?” the description is quite the same as the fitness test. I’ll get a deeper look on it. I’m little bit confused on why only the v02max is evaluated here, regarding about all we discussed before and the concept of evaluation of the value which is exclusive by red-zone…
