I am a Suunto user for a very long time and recently updated my Ambit 3 Peak to Race S. 1, I found strange behaviour of the watch, no matter what battery performance I set on my custom biking activity, after every activity battery goes back to the “Performance” option. Generally, I keep settings to ultra. This will lead you to force check everything again and again before you start the activity. (Basically, it does not save my custom settings for battery) 2, It does not show me anything (Blank Screen) when I raise my wrist, even though I keep Raise to wake mode to full awake and must have to press the crown button to check every time. Of course, I can’t do that while riding on a hard trail. Any ideas or suggestions? The watch is reset to few times, had a chat with the support team without any solution or a firm answer. Thanks …

@VoiGAS yes I mean the wrist power issue. Power drops are gone! Some progress with these bugs is good Right now the only solution to the wrist power issue I can come up with is reboot my Race in the morning of a session day. And first few minutes of the run verify I see Stryd power numbers. The reboot seems to help making sure I’m seeing pod power. But after few days of running and kettlebell workouts tracked with the watch I tend to see the wrist power.

@akimserkam said in Suunto plus store: Will Run get the suunto plus store in the next update? No one knows Suunto’s plans for this watch. That said, I hope Suunto opts for clean support without adding extra elements. They recently added support for Power Meter… If I had to give my opinion, I would ask for real-time ZS at most. Period.

@UweMt You are reading the manual for the 9 Peak but the watch you are showing is the 9 Peak Pro, which has a significantly different menu system. When the watch is paused, to see the time use the middle button to cycle to a data screen that has the time at the top. To see the battery level, either: press and hold the bottom button, which will take you directly to the control panel screen, which shows the charge %, or press the bottom button once and then select control panel from the menu, which then takes you to the same place. You can also do 1) to see the battery charge without pausing the recording. I don’t use autopause but this is how it works with the 9 Peak Pro after manually pausing, so I expect it’ll be the same in autopause.

Hello, today we noticed this issue on my wifes 5 Peak. Unfortunatelly it has already 2.5 year so it is not under warranty anymore. And she is light user, and not wearing it while washing dishes, showering, sleeping etc. Only around 9hours a day during working days only and then while cycling/hiking but thats few times a month. Hi all! My Android mobile phone can connect and be paired with my Suunto 5, but it keeps on pairing once both devices are connected. Obviously, no performance data is automatically synced. The app and softwares are updated. What might be the problem? Thanks!

Interesting take! A lightweight Suunto with Stryd support would be a game-changer for runners. I doubt they’ll add it, but if they did, I’d consider it too. The T6c was legendary—2000 miles is impressive!

@sky-runner maybe a silly idea, but what about using multisport ? entering an aid station you switch to any mode you customized for “”“pause”“” at station, and switchback to main one when going out ? if times data are setup correctely, you can have total time and/or current activity time (run or pause time in you case), previous pause and previous “stats”, etc… and you will have all details in SA after.

GPS is essential for calculating Running Power. It is stated in the watch manual as well: Suunto 9 Peak Pro measures running power from the wrist combining GPS and barometric data. Ensure your weight is correct in the watch settings for the algorithm to work properly. Your weight is set at Settings > General > Personal > Weight.

@duffman19 said in Suunto navigation tendency to auto-reverse route when it shouldn't. Bug or misguided feature?: I think Suunto outsmarted itself when it decided to create the auto-reverse navigation feature. It really causes more problems than it solves. I think the best solution is to offer a menu option to navigate a route backwards, so the user must knowingly select it. There may also be situations when racing when a route auto-reversal is not just inconvenient but plain wrong and misleading. A lot of ultra marathon races have complex courses with long out-and-back sections of the course combined with parts of the course that are completely different. To make it more complicated, Imagine that you also have waypoints for all the aid stations on the route. I can think of many examples in my racing history, for example Miwok 100k (https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/california/miwok-100k), Canyons 100k, Cascade Crest 100M, Kodiak 100k, and more. If you don’t hit the turn-around point exactly as in the route, the route will likely reverse and then: You get the remaining elevation profile wrong The remaining total ascent becomes wrong Distance to next aid station becomes wrong All of that continues until you are done with the shared out-and back section of the route. This issue has actually happened to me, and more than once - both with Suunto 9 Baro and Race.

@sky-runner said in New Suunto Run Watch interface on older models (Vertical, Race, Race S)?: Spinning the crown is difficult when wearing gloves Not on a Coros watch, since the crown friction is much lower than on Suunto offerings <-- My experience: Pace 2 versus Race S. The Coros was a breeze to use even with thick finger gloves; did not try with ski mittens though… Instead I’d say that having to keep the crown pushed in for several seconds to scroll backwards, the Suunto way, is the real elephant in the room. As for other possible transfers from the Run watch to older models, sure! I would like sensible ones, but please not the ‘Fluff’. Back in 2013/2014 Garmin introduced Ground Contact Time on the FR620 and FR920XT, as well as Vertical Oscillation. This, together with the old (useful) data point Cadence, they called Running Dynamics. We spent countless hours on the forum discussing possible ways to make the numbers actionable, with little success. Basically it boiled down to “run faster” to lower the GCT and/or switch from heel striking to mid- or forefoot landing. VO is also lowered by “running faster”, but that’s about it. ‘You is You’ when it comes to running technique, and only mileage and experience will make your body adjust to the safest and most energy efficient running style for Your Body. Same goes for the Ground Contact Time Balance which Garmin squeezed into the RD set in 2015 (not backported to the FR620, you had to buy the new FR630…) The forum discussions were hilarious, and absolutely Zero clarification from Garmin. For example: 51-49 - meaning the GCT was slightly longer on the left foot - did that signify that something in the left leg department (hip, thigh, ankle etc) was weaker, injured or whatever than the right area, OR that your body favoured the left side because the right side was weaker, injured… etc. etc. The suggestions for how to balance a possible ‘imbalance’ took on surreal tones when one of the moderators claimed to having achieved 50-50 by holding one of the arms straight out from the body - this while running… I certainly would not buy a new version Suunto watch based on such frivolous additions.

@ruslan-jefremov часы без пульсометра? В таком случае 0 калорий ожидаемый результат. If no HR is being measured, 0 calories is an expected result. Check baro graphs in your region, there might have been pressure fluctuations with an actual storm. In case there were no significant changes you can maybe try to clean the baro holes. If nothing helps, you can try to contact support.

ooh wait yes that’s seems to be the orthostatic test from polar… @isazi in https://support.polar.com/en/support/the_what_and_how_of_orthostatic_test by the section “How do I do an orthostatic test?” the description is quite the same as the fitness test. I’ll get a deeper look on it. I’m little bit confused on why only the v02max is evaluated here, regarding about all we discussed before and the concept of evaluation of the value which is exclusive by red-zone…

@Dan-Cantir Indeed, I changed “location access” to “Always”, and since then the weather forecast has Benn updated automatically multiple times. Thank you. I don’t see why this is necessary (at least I would accommodate having a forecast for the last location where I opened the app), but for now it works and I don’t need to start a synchronisation from my watch anymore.

Maybe to avoid confusion, the option I’m thinking about should be called autobreak to distinguish it from autopause.
