@gogapo I created a guided workout similar to yours with SA. On the interval I can see the remaining distance to the end (358 m out of 400). My watch is a S9PP not a SR2 [image: 1758104976205-27776d48-55f8-47e7-8ff4-6a7be97a72c9-image.png]

@Meneillos Known bug. Should be repaired in future. I hope, I could connect speed AND cadence sensor in near future.

@Chen-Avinadav There is nothing wrong with your Race S or the GPS reception. Upload the .fit exercise file to an analysing site and you will see that the pace/speed variations are smoothly and slowly registered second by second. The Suunto ‘bug’ (as many of us would call it) lies within the Suunto App presentation and graph scale coarseness. It doesn’t have anything to do with the length of the activity; instead the presentation ‘bug’ is triggered by too small pace variations. Look at your 41 minute exercise. At the very beginning is a smooth acceleration from something like 8:00/km. Also at the ending minutes there is a ‘downwards spike’ of pace drop registered to 8:40/km. At the other pace extreme you hover around 4:40/km. That is a 4 minute difference which allows the Suunto App to draw ‘smoothish’ curves. In the 82 minute Run session, the pace span is a mere 1m20s circa (4:24-5:44-ish/km), and somehow the Suunto App then thinks it is A-OK to draw a rough sketch of the pace variations; with very few points. Back a few months ago, when I cared about this issue and actually reported it in this forum, I tried to create smooth graphs by walking at the beginning of every Run session. But due to some delay incorporated in the Suunto App about when to start plotting the pace curve, I had to walk for an overly long time to make that happen. If memory serves me, more than 40 seconds. I decided it to be too much of a hassle…

With the beta FW in I did 600 yards in the pool and still the stroke detection doesn’t work… everything is detected as free (free, breast, back). Once change I did see was, when there was a change in stroke during a length, the next turn wasn’t detected.

@brave_dave thank you so much, I see… My last 20 minutes of a 10k race and my Zonesense anaerobic thershold are quite similar (+/-2bpm). But then, there’s the widget on Suunto Run (the watch) that tells me that my lactate thershold is 12 or 14 bpm lower than the other methods and this confuses me, I guess it’s wrong. Anyway, thanks again.

Received feedback from the support team. They tell me that the Peak Pro is no longer manufactured, nor that they have the parts to repair it. Not sure why they talk about parts, as to me, the issue had nothing to do with “mechanics” (but hey I’m not a techncian). Their position is “we can maybe fix it, but a cost that wouldn’t be relevant to you”, so instead, they offer to me a replacement with another device. With an incredible discount of 10€ !!! Quite interstingly, the Peak Pro is one of the models they’re offering in this deal of the century. Yes. The same model that is not manufactured anymore and for which they have no spare parts if there’s an issue. Just bought a new Sports2. But with a “I give these guys one last chance, before I move to G” approach, as I’m pretty pi**ed off, the failure happened after a failed update (according to me, but once again, I’m no Suunto technicain), 2 weeks after the warranty expired, and by the fact that the support is putting me in a position where I have no other option that to buy a new device. Aren’t they clamining they are a sustainable company? “Repairability” is the basis of being sustainable, especially for a device that was first realseased less than 3 years ago. Or is the image they want to give some sort of green-washing. Anyways…

@Egika Hi, I’m also waiting for Suunto to get moving and expand its range of applications dedicated to kitesurfing!! Today, nothing is offered and there is no way to connect your watch to the surfr application.

Hello, today we noticed this issue on my wifes 5 Peak. Unfortunatelly it has already 2.5 year so it is not under warranty anymore. And she is light user, and not wearing it while washing dishes, showering, sleeping etc. Only around 9hours a day during working days only and then while cycling/hiking but thats few times a month. Interesting take! A lightweight Suunto with Stryd support would be a game-changer for runners. I doubt they’ll add it, but if they did, I’d consider it too. The T6c was legendary—2000 miles is impressive!

@larrybbaker After posting this feature request yesterday I googled if this might already exist for suunto, because I knew that it exists for garmin (tried to find an image of it, but couldn’t find one). I found someone in this forum who suggested something similar for the suunto vertical and the user created a nice gif how it could look like: https://forum.suunto.com/topic/10057/current-heart-rate-on-the-map The information shouldn’t cover too much from the map, but some sorf of indicator could be at the edge of the screen.

The 145 is LT1, that is the upper limit of Z2 in the classic model. Maybe it wasn’t the best day. Thanks for the explanation Today, my heart rate was definitely 5-10 beats higher than last week, so this could be a good sign. I ran 5:0/km with a heart rate of 146-154 instead of the usual 135-142, so I immediately felt that today 5:0 was too fast for Z1/Z2. I’ll let you know after my next workouts. Regarding your intervals - 100m is too short for ZoneSense to be effectively used. It needs about 2 minutes to correspond to your conditions. OK With the top button you can cycle through 4 different screens of ZoneSense. One of them gives you HR and Pace, what I often use… Didn’t know, thanks!

@isazi Maybe an idea for Suunto to make this configurable? I have no idea how big of a battery impact this WiFi syncs have on the watch.

@kamarasm I’d be upset if it didn’t make its way to the Race S given how new it is too.

@halajos It is unlikely you will get an answer. We do not know when the next firmware is coming. Suunto is unlikely to tell you when they plan to stop supporting the current S series generation.

@the_77 yes I’ve noticed it early-on too. Since there can be only one custom chart during the workout it should be possible to customize its color. Being always red isn’t the best idea as users can have multiple sports modes and color-coding is helpful to quickly get reminded what the graph is showing. For example, I can have a sports mode where I’m using chart for cadence so I don’t mind the color, but then I’ll be using elevation or tempo, so a different color than red would be welcome. Of course it doesn’t have to be full RGB spectrum But having few basic colors to choose from would be fantastic.

@ianpet had an Elementum Terra liien5 years ago. Beautiful piece of design and technology with a leather strap. Never let me down. Now it’s been retired since I got onto GPS watch train with an A3 Peak as a start.

@activejiggy you’ll see percentage when you press and hold the lower button as if you would like to lock or unlock the buttons, or when you pause an activity and flip thru pause screens with middle button. but the watch will remind you during an activity when battery capacity becomes critical and offers you to switch to another battery mode. it’s very clever and smart designed in order to make us worry less about it

@J-Flan it is already difficult to find a vector band , last one I bought was on AliExpress but I seemed the original length. I think there are adaptadors to nato/corded bands.
