@gogapo I created a guided workout similar to yours with SA. On the interval I can see the remaining distance to the end (358 m out of 400). My watch is a S9PP not a SR2 [image: 1758104976205-27776d48-55f8-47e7-8ff4-6a7be97a72c9-image.png]

@Meneillos Known bug. Should be repaired in future. I hope, I could connect speed AND cadence sensor in near future.

@Chen-Avinadav There is nothing wrong with your Race S or the GPS reception. Upload the .fit exercise file to an analysing site and you will see that the pace/speed variations are smoothly and slowly registered second by second. The Suunto ‘bug’ (as many of us would call it) lies within the Suunto App presentation and graph scale coarseness. It doesn’t have anything to do with the length of the activity; instead the presentation ‘bug’ is triggered by too small pace variations. Look at your 41 minute exercise. At the very beginning is a smooth acceleration from something like 8:00/km. Also at the ending minutes there is a ‘downwards spike’ of pace drop registered to 8:40/km. At the other pace extreme you hover around 4:40/km. That is a 4 minute difference which allows the Suunto App to draw ‘smoothish’ curves. In the 82 minute Run session, the pace span is a mere 1m20s circa (4:24-5:44-ish/km), and somehow the Suunto App then thinks it is A-OK to draw a rough sketch of the pace variations; with very few points. Back a few months ago, when I cared about this issue and actually reported it in this forum, I tried to create smooth graphs by walking at the beginning of every Run session. But due to some delay incorporated in the Suunto App about when to start plotting the pace curve, I had to walk for an overly long time to make that happen. If memory serves me, more than 40 seconds. I decided it to be too much of a hassle…

With the beta FW in I did 600 yards in the pool and still the stroke detection doesn’t work… everything is detected as free (free, breast, back). Once change I did see was, when there was a change in stroke during a length, the next turn wasn’t detected.

@brave_dave thank you so much, I see… My last 20 minutes of a 10k race and my Zonesense anaerobic thershold are quite similar (+/-2bpm). But then, there’s the widget on Suunto Run (the watch) that tells me that my lactate thershold is 12 or 14 bpm lower than the other methods and this confuses me, I guess it’s wrong. Anyway, thanks again.

Received feedback from the support team. They tell me that the Peak Pro is no longer manufactured, nor that they have the parts to repair it. Not sure why they talk about parts, as to me, the issue had nothing to do with “mechanics” (but hey I’m not a techncian). Their position is “we can maybe fix it, but a cost that wouldn’t be relevant to you”, so instead, they offer to me a replacement with another device. With an incredible discount of 10€ !!! Quite interstingly, the Peak Pro is one of the models they’re offering in this deal of the century. Yes. The same model that is not manufactured anymore and for which they have no spare parts if there’s an issue. Just bought a new Sports2. But with a “I give these guys one last chance, before I move to G” approach, as I’m pretty pi**ed off, the failure happened after a failed update (according to me, but once again, I’m no Suunto technicain), 2 weeks after the warranty expired, and by the fact that the support is putting me in a position where I have no other option that to buy a new device. Aren’t they clamining they are a sustainable company? “Repairability” is the basis of being sustainable, especially for a device that was first realseased less than 3 years ago. Or is the image they want to give some sort of green-washing. Anyways…

Hello, today we noticed this issue on my wifes 5 Peak. Unfortunatelly it has already 2.5 year so it is not under warranty anymore. And she is light user, and not wearing it while washing dishes, showering, sleeping etc. Only around 9hours a day during working days only and then while cycling/hiking but thats few times a month. Interesting take! A lightweight Suunto with Stryd support would be a game-changer for runners. I doubt they’ll add it, but if they did, I’d consider it too. The T6c was legendary—2000 miles is impressive!

@seanvk Suunto is already looking into this. I am very sure it will come to enable multiple at a time (e.g. external device, structured workout and a technical one together makes sense). Can’t confirm any dates though.

@Danny-poleg Suunto does not do this but Garmin has a feature that will “pace” you for the entire race taking into account elevation changes, the predicted finish time and how much you slow down over the course. I can see how this could be useful but I tried this for a couple of ultras and found it takes the fun out of racing for me. I was almost always ahead or behind of my predictions. I think for road events it would be ok. I stopped using it and don’t this this level of direction is necessarily worth the effort If you generally run roads I could see how this could be helpful but I prefer simply assessing my avg pace.

@objpath it is not “fixed”, it is not a “bug”, the Suunto Navigation map since at least the Spartan series always rotate into the compass (low speed) or movement (higher speed) direction. you can vote for this feature suggestion, and … hope.

@bikedocben I want to return my Race S. Supprt gave me link to a site where I should create my return label. Too bad this is not possible. I get an error message, that creating return labels is not possible currently. I think they have some issues with their systems currently. EDIT: Just tried it again, today it works

@TriMark1984 Hi, the only workaround for “Current Activity Avg Pace” is “Lap Avg Pace”. So, you create a Custom sport mode and instead of Avg Pace field, select Lap Avg Pace field. Than, once you change the activity, press the Lap button as well, and you’ll get an average pace relevant to actual Activity (Lap). That was the only workaround which I was able to think of and was using it in this way. However, you are right, Multisport implementation could be better and more intuitive…and I am not talking about customizing Triathlon sport mode, which is not possible at all, but that was discussed many times already in different threads…

@Umer-Javed my 2 cents here : Still a triangulation method gives already very accurate position, this is typically what we were doing during my army with 2 visible points. Nowadays watches with GPS allow to extend this principle even when there is fog and you 2 visibles points are … not visible So tirangulation gives a very good position, still approximative and it is more for the pleasure to do it Concerning the SUUNTO + SAFE sceen, it is a nice one but I do not like it … gps coordinates are not such easy to use. do you know WHAT 3 WORD ? … my dream is that there is a revision of this widget with also the capacity in these S+ screens to use the scroll and if such to separate the screen into 3 : 1) the current position with W3W 2) the current position with GPS coordinate 3) the initial position with GPS coordinate, distance and direction . Doing such it will allow to use bigger fonts… Go visit this : https://what3words.com/ Why I suggest W3W ? is you are in difficulties or in any other reasons, for example you want to give your position to a friend … not so many people talk GPS coordinate … also they might not hear well and a small difference (so a small error / misunderstanding) in GPS coordinate can generate a big error on the map, instead giving 3 words to your friend allow him to simply use his own phone and locate you, so later to indicate to anybody where you are, or … to go to you this will work in mountain as well as in a town or … a big supermarket … and you with a nice phone or a very old one my idea also here is : let’s PLAY with this watch but not just find it beautiful so totaly agree with you

@far-blue the watches need to be awake in order to connect, being still while in the drawer they should be idle, as in airplane mode.

@sky-runner I agree with 1 and some of 2 but keep programmable distance to next field. Coros just added that actually with direction symbol. It’s very useful for those of us that don’t like flipping screens during our activities. You can always create 2 custom sports modes, one with nav. and one without …
