Hi everyone, I just received my Vertical 2 today and have a couple questions. I am using Always on Display on low brightness. Is it normal that when I touch the screen it won’t fully wake up to the watch face? Currently, the only way to do so is by gesture or pressing a button. Also, is it normal to go from 100% battery to 96% in around 2.5 hours? Thanks in advance

@Inge-Nallsson Are you sure about the 1.1mm size of the spring bars? I’ve measure the original strap’s bars and my digital caliper (not sure abount its precision) gave me 1.0mm. Do you choose 1.1mm bars intentionally thicker?

I’ve been buying watches since the Spartan, and I always said to myself the heart rates will get more accurate, but again and again I get proven wrong. Today I had a running test where they used another brand while I was wearing my watch (RACE), and my Suunto’s heart rate was always off, sometimes even by 30 beats. On most other occasions I have a feeling that the watch always needs to warm up. Like, it will go crazy for the first 10 min and then give more reliable heart rates. I’m at a point that I just start doubting that it will ever be on point. What can I do besides rebooting, which I already did several times? Should I skip OHR and only use the belt, which actually defeats the purpose of having an OHR watch? Should I upgrade to RACE 2, as it has a new heart rate monitor? But you understand that I’m not eager to upgrade again, as I kept having the same issues.

@kurtpenter thanks but no dice… I did reply to that thread as it looks like something I’ve experienced also Today’s easy run and I’m still getting wrist power. I guess I’ll try to unpair and re-pair the pod with the watch. Annoying! And Race 2 prices even second hand are too steep for me to try switching to newer watch. This issue was tolerable for a few months. It’s just this week it seems to be persistent instead of “once every few weeks”.

@quentinho Nope, this experience is foreign to me. My watch never sleeps during a workout. So on my 9PP it’s enough to single-tap for a lap or pause.

Received feedback from the support team. They tell me that the Peak Pro is no longer manufactured, nor that they have the parts to repair it. Not sure why they talk about parts, as to me, the issue had nothing to do with “mechanics” (but hey I’m not a techncian). Their position is “we can maybe fix it, but a cost that wouldn’t be relevant to you”, so instead, they offer to me a replacement with another device. With an incredible discount of 10€ !!! Quite interstingly, the Peak Pro is one of the models they’re offering in this deal of the century. Yes. The same model that is not manufactured anymore and for which they have no spare parts if there’s an issue. Just bought a new Sports2. But with a “I give these guys one last chance, before I move to G” approach, as I’m pretty pi**ed off, the failure happened after a failed update (according to me, but once again, I’m no Suunto technicain), 2 weeks after the warranty expired, and by the fact that the support is putting me in a position where I have no other option that to buy a new device. Aren’t they clamining they are a sustainable company? “Repairability” is the basis of being sustainable, especially for a device that was first realseased less than 3 years ago. Or is the image they want to give some sort of green-washing. Anyways…

Hello, today we noticed this issue on my wifes 5 Peak. Unfortunatelly it has already 2.5 year so it is not under warranty anymore. And she is light user, and not wearing it while washing dishes, showering, sleeping etc. Only around 9hours a day during working days only and then while cycling/hiking but thats few times a month. @deserthike20 @MotherRunner @aiv4r @2b2bff @mando I will convey this to Suunto but I may set up a poll or something here to help gain traction on this. The more that want a change the better chance we have. I will enquire on the field test site first to see if this is planned to be optional and get back to you here.

@isazi It had the latest firmware on it. But after your post I tried to reinstall on it. This morning I tried out Guides and Navigation together for my training session and … IT WORKS NOW Thanks a lot, for your helping. About guides and apps not work together, I knew. I guess it is because both are S+ apps practically and only one S+ can run in a time. But anyway, I really wait when Suunto extend this at least to run two of them.

@babychai I see. Well, so far there’s no music support in Suunto watches apart from S7. You can control the music from your phone via the watch, but it has to be in bluetooth range.

@stromdiddily said in Crossfit training: @Danny-poleg I think it’s a trademark issue isn’t it? This is correct. Suunto watches (starting with the Spartan ultra,I believe) had a sport mode called “CrossFit”; it was later renamed “Cross training” because of trademark issues.

@isazi It now works on my Peak 9 Pro. I used Climbing and added a new personal mode, turned of gps as I use it indoors. It is quite okay but maybe it would be better to choose a different sport mode as base.

@Dimitrios-Kanellopoulos said in Valuate the X on the map and offer the possibility to "SAVE IT AS A POI" or to "GO TO IT IN BEARING MODE": @Fenr1r but Suunto doesn’t listen 🧔 (sarcasm) So I keep my fingers crossed that one day Suunto won’t listen to requests for improvements in structured training either.

@maszop garmin has a special AR mode, that allows recording but not much else. and basically it shows a time stamp since when this mode was enabled uninterruptedly. So it can be checked easily after the race.

@Stefano-M64 correct. As most phones can also connect USB memory sticks, they are able to power them. And: Afaik there is a European regulation about chargers, that require them to be USB-C This is why Suunto Run has a USB-C charger. And upcoming new models as well.

@Brad_Olwin Definitely would be though I use an Oura ring for sleep, even more comfortable Would be great if Suunto/Oura had an integration though I don’t think any of the watches have that.

Underwater precision is not the issue. Pressure changes magnitudes bigger than in the atmosphere with altitude. It is the total detection range of the sensor that is limiting it. You have a fixed bit resolution of the sensor in total. To get high precision altitude resolution, you need to waste a lot of bits for under water. With S9PP this has been re-dialed. Not so for older models. Any extension under water will reduce resolution above.
