Morning Ladies and Gents ,I’ve stepped into a new era and with it has come a new watch ,looking behind me I was apprehensive about investing in Sunto ,my last one ,although appearing pretty bomb proof ,didn’t live upto my expectations. I’ve followed Samsung health and it’s Software/Hardwear for some while ,this fit my finances and activity. Since loosing 35 lb or two and a half stone I’ve stepped my physical regime up a bit culminating in 24 miles 4 times a week 30km Spinning bike the rest shared between elliptical ,treadmill and rowing machine ,most hikes are 10/15 miles and carrying 18kg or 36 lb of kit I’ve done okay I’d say at 55 and a Uk front line paramedic I’ve done quite well and feel great for it ,my current burn out status has left me lots of time for “ME” So with the intro in mind let me ask a few questions ,seemingly everyone is having issues with compatibility with MAC OSX ,and the two current software patches to allow updates and laptop based training work ? Is there a way to change the font colour ?, I quite like my Lime green watch face numerals ,is anyone aware of third party watch faces for this amazing chunk of tech I have on my wrist ,the Vertical titanium Canyon is living upto my expectations so far ,the battery is phenomenal too ,well done Sunto. Anyone with any hacks or tips please give me the down load on these please ,it’s quite a thorough piece of kit and although simple enough to navigate I’m sure the more seasoned users on here might no a thing to two ,“Old dog new tricks” , more the merrier bring it on Right enough of all this waffle ,I hope to get some valuable feedback Stay safe ,look after yourselves and be kind to one another.

@Audaxjoe I think you are right. I should be more specific. The watch face I like has strange options for compliments. There are 4 places for complications, but not every complication can be put on every place. I like weather, #messages and alarm, but have only 2 places for that. For the other 2 spots, I’m only interested in date (and also get battery level). So that leaves 1 spot unusable and one desire not fulfilled. I know this is my specific preference and a very 1st world problem (Other strange thing. If I use the alarm complication, I get a blue circle around it. That is not around the messages complication)

@Brendan-A.-MacWade not sure if steps reset with the watch turned off. Maybe the trigger for reset is the minute rolling over from 23:59 to 0:00. If this is not happening, maybe steps are not deleted. How about just not switching your watch off?

@marcomonari No worries - Suunto 9 Peak Pro is fully supported. I guess those sync hiccups will be sorted quickly.

@Shlomo-Sackstein Hi, so did you do anything to the watch in the end? I have similar experience with my S9P recently. Basically at first it had the same symptoms as yours, 50%-60% then suddenly prompt for recharge. Then I tried to calibrate the charge calculation by discharging (painfully as it keeps shutting down under 50%) it to near 0% then recharging to full. The percentage during daily usage became more consistent from 99% to 10% however the actually battery capacity was still quite low, and was degrading quickly, maybe only 20% of the original capacity. The watch is being sent to support for checking. (More updates: Support replaced battery two days later)

Merci ! Björn

Hi all! My Android mobile phone can connect and be paired with my Suunto 5, but it keeps on pairing once both devices are connected. Obviously, no performance data is automatically synced. The app and softwares are updated. What might be the problem? Thanks!

Interesting take! A lightweight Suunto with Stryd support would be a game-changer for runners. I doubt they’ll add it, but if they did, I’d consider it too. The T6c was legendary—2000 miles is impressive!

Totally agree. Moreover, the tone settings should be added to the shortcut menu.

@freeheeler said in Watch full of activities?: … normally people sync every now and then and you don’t even need to do it manually. It happens when you turn on the BT on your phone, if the watch isn’t in airplane (like) mode

It would be interesting if the Suunto app Guides had a lap counter like intervals.icu Unfortunately Training Peaks does not have it either.

@Tami999 You’re right. According to the watch user guide, the “Do not disturb” mode dims the brightness and switch to standby mode quicker. Still, the standby mode when “always-on display” is activated is still too bright for the night. AND… it’s not possible to schedule a different time for the sleep tracking between week and weekend… today I was waken up… because of the brightness of my watch as I was sleeping later than the end of the “scheduled” sleep mode. With just a bit more finetuning for this feature, it would completely change the quality of the sleep mode experience. I hope Suunto team will read this.

@Brad_Olwin said in Accessibility: @cjanevate You can select a watch face that is as easy to read as possible. I wear eyeglasses and create custom sport modes with 3 or 4 fields. I can see those clearly. It is hard for me to see the tiny time font though. No human is capable of reading that data in motion. Well let’s face it, neither that one nor many others. Especially those related to instructions in structured training or many of the S+apps that require you to practically stop to read them. I would also like a reconsideration by programmers/designers in this regard.

@isazi thank you for the update. I wasn’t sure my description was detailed enough, but apparently it was. I was guessing it had something to do with the out and back nature of the course.

@Sebastiaan-van-leeuwen I’d really like this feature. Sure some people won’t, but having it as an option would be super useful. Currently I’m essentially only using the map screen on new routes, making the rest redundant as I can’t be switching all the time.

@timecode said in 7-day HRV average on "Recovery HRV" widget: I don’t want to open a new topic, but not sure if it’s related to the latest update, or I am just remembering that the HRV used to be displayed differently. My last nights HRV was 38, but instead of showing 38 on the graph, it shows the 7 day average - 44. Was this always like this? Or I am just not remembering it right? I remember it showing my last nights value on the graph - not the 7 d.avg. Can someone advise on this? Thanks! The last Night is written under the Graph.

@dpeuser Detlef, i think it would be possible. In the suunto api there is a hrv value from the 24/7 datasets. https://apizone.suunto.com/api-details#api=new-247-api&operation=daily-activity-samples I really like the body battery / stress from my garmin device. It measures hrv intraday when you do not move or are active and compares that to your baseline. It works quiet good for me. I use it as a review tool to detect my stress situations (hello alcohol) and stressed moments in work to reflect these situations. It is much more than a toy and many sport reviewers like dcrainmaker find these tools quite useable. HRV as a stress indiciator is used by many companies (whoop, oura, garmin) Data is there and needs to be processed. If somebody does not like these information he just can switch off the widget.

Sorry to revive this dead thread But I had to share this with you, guys. Yesterday there was a powercut when I was at work in the underground (no windows), I just had my watch with me. Naturally, the first thing I tried to get an improvised flashlight was turning on the backlight of my watch. But that was of no use - even at the highest brightness and with white background, the intensity is just not good enough… The way to go is quite different! Consider this as a life-hack In these situations, you just take the watch off your wrist and activate the optical HR measurement. The optical HR sensor LEDs are much brighter than any “backlight flashlight”! Their flashing is slightly annoying, but better than nothing in such situations…
