The issue with battery drain isn’t universal. If people have an issue they are more likely to post. My experience is the battery is better than expected. I’m getting around 9 days, approx 12 hours GPS a week and 4 hours indoors. AOD and notifications. No 24 hour HR or sleep tracking. I used to get around 2 weeks with the V1 between charging with similar activities.

@Inge-Nallsson Are you sure about the 1.1mm size of the spring bars? I’ve measure the original strap’s bars and my digital caliper (not sure abount its precision) gave me 1.0mm. Do you choose 1.1mm bars intentionally thicker?

I’ve been buying watches since the Spartan, and I always said to myself the heart rates will get more accurate, but again and again I get proven wrong. Today I had a running test where they used another brand while I was wearing my watch (RACE), and my Suunto’s heart rate was always off, sometimes even by 30 beats. On most other occasions I have a feeling that the watch always needs to warm up. Like, it will go crazy for the first 10 min and then give more reliable heart rates. I’m at a point that I just start doubting that it will ever be on point. What can I do besides rebooting, which I already did several times? Should I skip OHR and only use the belt, which actually defeats the purpose of having an OHR watch? Should I upgrade to RACE 2, as it has a new heart rate monitor? But you understand that I’m not eager to upgrade again, as I kept having the same issues.

@kurtpenter thanks but no dice… I did reply to that thread as it looks like something I’ve experienced also Today’s easy run and I’m still getting wrist power. I guess I’ll try to unpair and re-pair the pod with the watch. Annoying! And Race 2 prices even second hand are too steep for me to try switching to newer watch. This issue was tolerable for a few months. It’s just this week it seems to be persistent instead of “once every few weeks”.

@quentinho Nope, this experience is foreign to me. My watch never sleeps during a workout. So on my 9PP it’s enough to single-tap for a lap or pause.

Received feedback from the support team. They tell me that the Peak Pro is no longer manufactured, nor that they have the parts to repair it. Not sure why they talk about parts, as to me, the issue had nothing to do with “mechanics” (but hey I’m not a techncian). Their position is “we can maybe fix it, but a cost that wouldn’t be relevant to you”, so instead, they offer to me a replacement with another device. With an incredible discount of 10€ !!! Quite interstingly, the Peak Pro is one of the models they’re offering in this deal of the century. Yes. The same model that is not manufactured anymore and for which they have no spare parts if there’s an issue. Just bought a new Sports2. But with a “I give these guys one last chance, before I move to G” approach, as I’m pretty pi**ed off, the failure happened after a failed update (according to me, but once again, I’m no Suunto technicain), 2 weeks after the warranty expired, and by the fact that the support is putting me in a position where I have no other option that to buy a new device. Aren’t they clamining they are a sustainable company? “Repairability” is the basis of being sustainable, especially for a device that was first realseased less than 3 years ago. Or is the image they want to give some sort of green-washing. Anyways…

Hello, today we noticed this issue on my wifes 5 Peak. Unfortunatelly it has already 2.5 year so it is not under warranty anymore. And she is light user, and not wearing it while washing dishes, showering, sleeping etc. Only around 9hours a day during working days only and then while cycling/hiking but thats few times a month. @Francesco-Pagano said in Which UI layout do you prefer? (S9PP/SV users): I voted for “other” because with time, I am getting used to the new UI and I believe it would be nice to just add one more widget to left-swipe. I selected “other” for the same reason. A possibility to pin more than one widget and move between them horizontally like in the old UI would be great.

I’d also be interested to know as I too suffer from this (last time I was tested they recorded around 1500 ectopic beats over a 24 hour period). I’m lucky enough to suffer from both atrial fibrillation which is probably connected to aortic stenosis. I’m anticipating a stent will be on the cards for me over the coming decade or two I don’t use HR for my training and I haven’t yet used HRV, but will definitely keep an eye on this thread as I may implement the HRV recording in the future

@Maryn a major flaw of “manual intervals” is that rest screen doesn’t show a distance but time. In some cases distance is more useful

@far-blue said in Better responsiveness/faster UI: I rarely notice any lag on my Race S. I’m sure the balance between responsiveness and battery and memory usage is a fine one. Certainly clocking the processor faster will burn more battery and caching of data, while good for reducing processing needs, is always a tradeoff between performance and stale data. If you are referring mostly to the scrolling of the widget list do remember you can disable widgets you don’t use and you can re-order widgets to move the ones you access most often to the top of the list so there’s less need to scroll Thats what i have. Most important widgets at top of list or at shortcuts by holding buttons (upper/down)

I am looking for something similar to start stop recording or taking photos on the iPhone. I have a little bluetooth switch for that but often forget about it. Would be cool to control it from the watch. I use the phone on a gorillapod to record all sorts of stuff like playing guitar, MTB, Groundhandling with my Paraglider…

@Josaiplu RPE is a very good metric, but feeling is not exactly that and there was a thread where one could see that people understand that quite differently, therefor any addition to algorithm does not make sense also in my opinion. (But Recovery is also kind of made up metric that has not much science behind it, so maybe it fits, idk)

YEah … but remind the reminder Some products can also track moon phases based on the date you have set on your product. Do not use the moon phase functionality to estimate or forecast tides in situations where your safety is at risk. Always check also for other available information sources and play it safe.

Yes, you need Moveslink1, https://www.suunto.com/Support/software-support/moveslink/ , scroll down to Quest/M4/M5 . And it was working fine for me few months ago: [image: 1599342226937-screenshot_20200906-004157_chrome.jpg]
